Friday 12th March 7-8pm

More great music from the ’70s and ’80s including tracks by Elton John, ABBA, Jason Donovan, the Isley Brothers, Sheena Easton and The Carpenters. This week’s featured track is by local duo Raw and is a cover of an old Gladys Knight and the Pips number “You’re the best thing.”

This week’s short story by Andy Crabb is called “Stuck in a lift” and has a wonderful punchline at the end.

Friday 5th March 7-8pm

This week’s programme features more great music from the ’70s and ’80s, including tracks by Neil Diamond, Natalie Cole, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, The Beatles and the Isley Brothers.

I will also be introducing listeners to local singing duo Raw, whose music I will be playing from time to time in future programmes. Suraya and Mark, originally from the NW of England, moved to Spain  last year and quickly created a huge following, packing bars and restaurants wherever they appear on the Costa Blanca. They are now moving to the Costa del Sol, where they plan to open a health spa – more details to follow in the coming weeks.

Friday 26th February 7-8pm

In this week’s programme I’ll be playing some great music from the ’70s and ’80s as usual, including tracks by the Isley Brothers,  Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Hot Chocolate and Madonna.

I’ll also be introducing a new item, which I hope will become a regular feature of the programme – a short story with a Spanish flavour by local resident Andy Crabbe. This week’s story is called rather appropiately “The Hospital”.

As always there will be a recipe with a Mediterranean flavour and I’ll be continuing last week’s theme of tapas, telling you how to make marinated anchovies. Full details can be found on the following recipe page.
