About

Postcard from Spain is a regular programme broadcast on Friday evenings and presented by Vernon Pearce, in which he plays some of the best music of the ’70s and ’80s, together with news and stories of life on the Costa Blanca to where he has retired. Vernon is passionate about food and enjoys cooking and he features a regular recipe with a Mediterranean flavour on his programme.

Vernon spent many years living in the village of Kingsley near Alton and after presenting Talk about the Environment and the Food and Drink Programme on Wey Valley Radio and Delta FM, he joined HRB. In 2007, after being employed for 3 years as Town Initiatives Manager for Alton, during which time he was responsible for organising events in the town centre such as classic car shows, markets and the Yuletide Festival, he and his wife Celia retired to Spain.

In addition to his weekly magazine programme from Spain, Vernon also presents the late night Love Songs Hour, Smooth Jazz and several other occasional series such as The Sound of Country, The Sound of the ’40s and Grumpy Old Men.
