Short stories
From time to time, Postcard from Spain features short stories with a Spanish flavour written by Andy Crabb.
Andy has used his 12 years as a resident here to weave a marvellous tapestry of tales about a wide variety of characters. The stories display human behaviour in all its forms – treachery, revenge, dishonesty, murder and mayhem, self-sacrifice, compassion and love.
At turns humorous and sad, darkly amusing and poignant, Andy’s stories tell us about the inhabitants of the towns and villages of ancient and modern Spain. He will make you laugh and cry!
These are stories that not only delve into the rich historic past of this fascinating country but also tug at the heart and soul. Some of them are so moving that they will linger with you for a long time to come.
Andy Crabb spent the first few years of his life in England and the next 40 in Zimbabwe and Malawi. He has lived for 13 years in Spain, half of which were spent teaching in Marbella. For the last 7 years he has lived with his wife Sonia in the small village of Jesus Pobre, just outside Javea in the province of Alicante.
His major interests include long-distance walking for charity, drama (he performs regularly with the Careline Theatre group) and roaming the hills with Buster, his dog but these are frequently interrupted by the need to tend the vines or work in his garden. He also finds he is unable to stop writing; there’s always a story or two clattering around in his head!
